Been working on other stuff, so I do a quick entry. I'm sure right now you are on the edge of your seat in anticipation.
Good day! What were some of the highlights for the week?
Tianjin Eye at night: Wednesday (or maybe Thursday), we made our way to the Tianjin Eye (the big Ferris wheel) . While we did not ride it, we went to a restaurant nearby and then strolled around, taking in the views offered at night. We were given some Chinese lanterns by some locals for free and we set them off...always great fun to watch them fly away!
Karaoke: Friday night was Karaoke, with about 10 of us going for dinner and then making our way to a KTV place afterwards. If you are not aware, karaoke is HUGE in Asia. You rent out rooms and can swing for hours on end. We had the room rented for four hours and it went by very quickly. Many songs were belted out, with some featuring more in-tune singers than others. Overall, a very fun night.
Beijing Weekend: In the late afternoon, we make our way to Beijing. We enjoy a night out on the town ,as it is Andi's last weekend here. Everyone has a good time. On Sunday, we do some bargaining at the clothing market...always fun to do. Watching Kerim barter is good fun...I could watch him bargain for hours. It's a riot to say the least. We found a place that served poutine (quite good as well) so we can enjoy Canada day.
